The Bayonne Bridge Will Open

Next weekend, the Bayonne Bridge will remain open. The bridge is expected to remain open on weekends through the remainder of the year. Beginning November 6, the Monday through Thursday overnight 7:00 pm- 5:00 am closures will be suspended until the spring of 2018. This is due to the contractor's progress, upcoming holidays, and winter season. However, the bridge may be closed overnight on select Fridays to accommodate material delivery. Regular daytime 9:00 am – 3:00 pm closures have been suspended for the time being. Further use of daytime closures may be necessary and scheduled in the future to advance Bayonne Bridge construction, but for the immediate future, the roadway will remain open during daytime hours. Overnight full closures are scheduled for Monday through Thursday overnights, from 7:00 pm – 5:00 am. On certain overnights, however, the Bayonne Bridge will open by 4:30 am, a half-hour early, to provide an alternate route for drivers affected by 4:30 to 5:00 am traffic holds on the Goethals Bridge. The earlier 4:30 am openings will be confirmed via the daily traffic advisory emails. Bayonne, NJ - Margaret Street is closed until 2019. West 4th Street is closed until December 2017. Juliette Street is closed until December 2017. West 3rd Street is closed until November 2017. Staten Island, NY - Richmond Terrace, between Newark Avenue and Morningstar Road, is closed weeknights, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning, until December 2017.
