the book Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson

Lady Gaga says she's waited her whole life to be photographed by Terry Richardson and she discovered through him that shame is an obsolete notion.

Gaga released a video in which she reads an excerpt from the foreword to the book Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson. Dedicated to her “little monsters,” the book offers more than 300 photos, taken during the 10-month period in which the famed photographer was granted complete access to photographing the equally iconic musician.

“With Terry, the relationship extends beyond the photograph,” Gaga reads while reclining on a gray couch. “And if you’re lucky, he will teach you something truly profound about yourself.”

Gaga continues, saying, "Terry finds beauty in the most intricate and unassuming of places. His photography beckons the question over and over again. Should there ever be limitations in art? Because when he captures me in a moment of such tandem artistic and human purity, I am convinced the answer is that we must push the boundaries of culture through love and acceptance."

The highly anticipated book, which retails for $50, will be available November 22. Gaga and Richardson will appear at New York's New Museum Store to sign copies of the book.

In other Gaga news, Laurieann Gibson, her longtime creative director-collaborator on numerous videos, including "Bad Romance" and "Born This Way," has split with the superstar. The two women had forged one of pop music's closest working relationships since Gaga was first signed to Interscope Records. A rep for Gaga confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the two are no longer working together but declined to comment further. The Reporter alleges that the two began having creative differences during the making of the "Judas" video, which contained strong religious overtones that are said to have made Gibson uncomfortable. "Listen, I don't want lightning to strike me," Gibson said about the filming of the controversial video. "I believe in the Gospel and I'm not going there."
