Puss in Boots
Commercials for this movie have been taking up every TV ad block for the last two weeks. It’s the perfect movie for many demographics: children, crazy cat people, secretly crazy cat people... In all seriousness, it’s an adorable animated film about a Zorro-like (Antonio Banderas voices) cat originally seen in the Shrek movies. Also voicing are Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton, Amy Sedaris (omg!) and Guillermo del Toro.
This is a must-see for Hunter S. Thompson fans and anyone who enjoys seeing Johnny Depp in a towel. Here we find the HST-inspired character Paul Kemp (Depp) in Puerto Rico, getting into hijinks involving liquor, drugs and social outcasts. It’s like Fear and Loathing, but with a lil’ bit of Español thrown in. Kemp tries to stick it to the man (hint: “the man” is a white guy from Connecticut), but can he and his journalist weirdos do it?
