A judge in New York has ruled Courtney Love responsible for a collection of expensive jewelry which went missing after she borrowed it for a public appearance.
Jacob & Co. boss Jacob Arabo sued the Hole star last year over claims the company lent her two diamond chains, a bracelet and a pair of earrings, worth more than $100,000, which were never returned.

Love alleges she gave the items to staff at New York’s Mercer Hotel with instructions to return them to Jacob & Co., claiming the workers successfully returned the bracelet but lost a bag containing the other items.
Manhattan court judge Doris Ling-Cohan has now ruled Love, who filed a police report in November over the missing jewelry, is responsible for the loss of the gems.
The ruling, which was made public on Tuesday, states Jacob may not ask Love for the full retail price of the items, but just the “reasonable value/market value.”
Love’s lawyer James Janowitz praised the judge’s decision, telling the New York Post, “(Jacob) isn’t entitled to some ridiculous markup. He’s only out of pocket what he paid for them.”
Janowitz has also reportedly asked for any money Love is ordered to pay to be offset by any insurance payouts collected by the jeweler.
